BIBLICAL PROPHETIC EXPERIENCE

Biblical prophetic experiences are very diverse in nature, as men those revealed in unfolding service. Some came in dreams, others in visions, and still others in what the bible call trances. Dreams, visions and trances all have biblical precedents and are established way the Lord speaks to His people. There as such an increasing number ,of Christians who are having such experiences today that it is regarded by some to be a fulfillment of Peter’s prophecy on the Day of Pentecost which he quote from the prophet Joel:

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

(Acts 2:17-18)

As this scripture declare, prophetic revelations through visions, dreams and prophecies will be prevalent in the last day. Because there is such a dramatic increase in revelation being given to Christian in these times, it’s understandable why it is regarded as a sign that we are indeed in the last day.

DISCERNING THE TRUE FROM FALSE

Jesus also warned that in the last day there would be many “false prophets” (Matthew 24:24). This is to be expected because as the Lord also taught, whenever He sows wheat in a field, the enemy comes along and sows tears in the same field (Matthew 13:24-30). Tears look like wheat, and many even tasted like wheat, but they are noxious. Satan will immediately try to counterfeit everything that God is doing, creating confusion and if possible deceiving even the elect. However, satan could not do this if God did not allow it. Obviously the Lord wants us to learn to distinguish the real from the false and allow the real to be tested by the Falco in order to purify that which is true.

That false prophets are also becoming more revalent should not surprise us, but rather encourage us seek the real with greater determination. If we do not want to be deceived by the false, the answer is not to reject all prophecy, but rather to know what is true. Those who cannot discern the true prophecy in the times to come will be increasingly subject to the false. If God is planting something, it is because we will need it. If we do not plant field, but rather neglect it, the only harvest reaped will be weeds. Those who do not receive what God is doing now will end up reaping that which grows wild.

From the beginning the Lord was committed to allowing mankind to choose between the real and false, the good and the evil. That’s why He put the free of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden along with tree of life. He did not put the tree of knowledge there in order to cause us to stumble, but rather so that we could prove our obedience and love for Him. There can be no true no true obedience from the heart unless there is the freedom to disobey.

Likewise, true teachers and true teaching will always be shadowed by false teachers and false teaching; true prophets and true prophecy will always be shadowed by the false. The Lord will allow the enemy’s to sow tears among the wheat in order to test hearts. Those who love the truth will discern what is true, and those who are pure in heart will discern that which is pure.

That the Lord would warn in that there will be false prophets at the end of the age implies that there will be true ones, or He simply would have said that all prophets at the end will be false, but this is a basic conflict with Joel’s prophecy that at the end, God will pour His Spirit and there will be visions, dreams, and prophecy.

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

(Joel 2:28-29).

There is a danger in being open to prophetic revelation such as dreams, visions and prophecy. However, there is a much greater danger it we are not open to them. Revelations are not given to us for our entertainment, but because we need them for the times in which we live. As Jesus also declared,

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

(John 10:1-5).

The Lord’s sheep know. They are not deceived by strangers because they His voice so well they can distinguished it from the voice of others. One of the ways that Lord as spoken to His people from earliest times as been prophetically. Because we know that God never change, and because the scripture as so clear about the visions, dreams, and prophecy that He will gives to His people, it is imperative for us to distinguishes His revelation from the enemy’s and then to interpret His messages correctly. After they are interpreted correctly we must have the wisdom to apply them correctly.

THE PURPOSE OF PROPHECY

Prophecy is given for encouragement, but it is also given for edification. To edify mean “to build” much of my life and ministry had been built on fulfilled on prophetic words. Almost every major aspect of our ministry, including place I go to minister or speak, are foretold prophetically. I do not consider do something or going somewhere to minister unless the Lord as spoken to me in advance. Jesus did the same. He did not respond to human needs: He only did what He saw His Father doing. We do not have time to go places or start things that God is not leading us to do I think that our massages are hearing form the Lord before we do things enable us to be fruitful with the resources and time entrusted to us.

I know of others who have successful build a ministry or church on prophetic words. I also know of some who have been shipwrecked and others who suffer seriously diversion because they did not know how to judge prophecy. Many of the problems happened because they received genuine revelation from the Lord, but misinterpreted or misapply it. For some, this may sound too complicated, but it is process clearly establish by the scriptures and we will pay dear price if we deviate from sound Biblical wisdom in regard prophetic revelation.

As Jesus said ion Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. Many todays make errors because they know the scriptures but do not know the power of God. Those who know His power often make mistakes because they do not know the scriptures as they should.  If we going to keep from makes, we must know but the scriptures and the power of God. Prophecy we never intended to replace the Bible and the Bible was never intended to replace the prophecy.

What they may not understand at this point is that prophetic people also need they help every beat as much conservative evangelical need the help of those who have some experience the prophetic gift. For the church to achieve the maturity to which she is called there must be union between those who know the scriptures and those who know the power of God, and this is now happening at a fast pace.

I have searched the Bible to verify that the given in my experience are Biblical, and I am confident that they are. I do admit that some of my prophetic life cause me to few certain scripture in a way that I have not previously see them especially book of Jeremiah even so I believe that this is consistence with purpose of such prophetic revelations prophecy should not be used to establish doctrines. We were given the Bible for that, and I believe that the doctrine of Bible is complete and must never be added to. However, the Bible itself has many examples of prophetic experiences given to individuals. For the purpose of illuminating the scriptures.

A prominent New Testament example of this would be the trance into which peter fell resulting in His trip to Cornelius house and opening doors of faith to the gentiles. This experience and fruit bore glorify for the church that the Lord also intended for the gospel to be preached to the gentiles. This did not establish a new doctrine but illuminated with the scripture what the Lord Himself, had though us when He was with them, but which apparently had forgotten.

Many of the experiences included in my ministry deed the same for me.  They constantly reminded me of my own teaching and teaches and I had heard from others, but at best had only superficially implemented in my life. In this way, this prophetic experience was a constant challenge to me, bringing essential correction, and even judgment, to my own life and teaches. As I was the one having prophetic experience, I took them personally and do not presume that the same correction are needed by everyone. However, I do believe that many of them, if not most of them are generally applicable to the church in our time.

INFALLIBLILTY OF THE SCRIPTURE

The scriptures, as they were original written are infallible. They are the rock of truth and pure revelation of God and ways upon which we can build our lives with the surety that scripture will stand forever. I view prophecy more like the manner that the Lord served in the wilderness. It is from the Lord and will help to sustain us in our day by day works, but if we try to keep it longer than intended it will become foul.

The scripture are permanent and given so that we can build our lives upon the truth, while prophecy is given for edification and encouragement, strategically keeping is in the day-by-day will of the Lord. The quality of any relationship will be determined by the quality of the communication, and any relationship that does not have continually communication is a dying relationship. Prophecy does help to keep our day-by-day relationship with the Lord fresh, which is why I believe that the scriptures encourage us to “especially” seek the gift.

I have sought the gift of prophecy for many years. I did this out of obedience to the scripture that exhorts us to do this because I love the prophetic gift. I love prophetic experiences, even though all but a few have been major rebukes for me. Even so, I have prayed much more often for wisdom and gifts of wisdom that I have for any of the others gift. That is why I think that the Lord almost always appears to me in these experiences personified as wisdom. I also think that a truly wise person love rebukes, because “reproofs for discipline are the way of life” pro.6:23). In every one of these experiences, I received a profound and badly needed correction in my life as Hid Seer. I am seeking more revelation, a greater understanding in the interpretation and wisdom to apply all this correction in the apostolic and prophetic perspective transition in this age of time. Shalom
